SIFU Mr. Santi Pascual, AWW from Spain visit to My Kwoon 2Aug2015,
SIFU Santi Pascual is one of the outstanding disciples of my Si-Hing, Nino Bernardo. Other than possessing dedicated skill in Ving Tsun, he had studied and obtained the doctor qualification in Chinese acupuncture and naprapathy (推拿) in Guangdong years ago. He is multi-talented and devoted himself to pass the torch of my SIFU Grand Master, Wong Shun Leung's Ving Tsun skills. Many of his disciples have become Ving Tsun coaches who make every effort to spread and flourish the next generation. Besides, they are enthusiastic to exchange and share the insights in martial arts with others from Hong Kong and around the world. As such, he is recognised as a good role model.
SIFU Santi and his disciple, Juan Manuel Sanz started following VING TSUN TAM Martial Art Centre, SIFU TAM Yuk Lam Johnny's news and updates few years ago, and they appreciated the fighting skills and smooth operation. They had requested a visit to my Kwoon and would like to make offering sacrifices to my SIFU Wong Shun Leung. They also wanted to have a banquet together with my disciples. As they are from the biconditional gate which I appreciated in recent years, I cordially accepted their suggestions and arranged a whole-day programme with my helpful and efficient disciples.
In order to provide the most unforgettable visit in Hong Kong, all members of VING TSUN TAM had put our greatest efforts to organize the programme which included events such as, ordering a sacrificial offering, arranging logistics, designing and installing the propaganda picture wall, reserving banquet and ordering liquors.
Finally we met on the 2nd of August and the first thing to do was the memorial visit to pay our respect to my SIFU Wong Shun Leung. The sacrificial offering we prepared was all my SIFU Wong’s favorite food including cigarettes, red wine and coffee. The whole process was short and smooth in a beautiful weather. Surprisingly during that day there appeared solar halo which was an optical phenomenon produced by light interacting with ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere, resulting in a wide variety of colored or white rings, arcs and spots in the sky. The circular halo or properly called the 22 degree halo is near the Sun. Light is reflected and refracted by the ice crystals and split up into colors because of dispersion. The crystals behave like prisms and mirrors, refracting and reflecting light between the faces, sending shafts of light in particular directions. All these made me feel strongly my SIFU Wong's great devotion of love and care to all of us.
Transportation was so convenient that enabled us to be punctual in going back and forth between the martial art centre and the grave site. Having stayed there longer to enjoy the view before the return trip caused our driver, Mr. Wong, had to wait extra ten minutes. Moreover, we were 20 minutes later than our estimated time of arrival. Nevertheless, Mr. Wong was not disgruntled and did not ask for more payment. In spite of that, we appreciated it much and paid him extra payment to thank his kind understanding and cooperation.
When we arrived VING TSUN TAM martial art centre, we presented our historical pictures, performed the demonstration and exchanged our views on the martial arts. We also improved and learnt from one another by training and exchanging experience. Everyone enjoyed the learning experience very much. It was a great opportunity for the beginners to broaden their view and benefit from this visit.
After the sharing session, all our guests from Spain returned to their hotel for some rest. Then they were led by our disciples to a decent Chinese restaurant. The place was nice and cozy for meeting. Some of my disciples had brought 12 bottles of white wines, a bottle of the-state-of-the-art red wine and a bottle of whisky for celebration. Their dedication was absolutely in line with the teachings of our ancestors "love, support and sharing in fellowships". SIFU Santi seldom drinks, but he was so excited that he took several glasses of wines that evening and continued our discussion and sharing of Ving Tsun. That evening was full of lively atmosphere.
Two weeks after their visit, we received the appreciation from SIFU Santi and SIFU Juan. Many of my disciples felt their visit had positive impact in their Ving Tsun gathering. I am satisfied with all the arrangement and proud to see my disciples worked as one with great attitude.
Here are some pictures below the blog to share you the joy of that day. Please enjoy!
